Full speed ahead – to Vojens!
For many years a sleepy railway town, Vojens is now home to the SønderjyskE football club. Vojens has in fact become a real sports magnet. Vojens has Denmark’s longest outdoor go-cart track, a speedway arena that hosts world-class international speedway fixtures, and an air force base where you can come in to see F-16 fighter aircraft.
SønderjyskE football club plays home matches at Vojens Sports Arena. Expect an awesome experience when the SønderjyskE Ice Hockey team, six times Danish champions, whooshes across the ice. If you are a born ice skater or curling champion, the ice rink is open to the public. Swim like a dolphin? The 25-metre long swimming pool is open all year. There are springboards and a spa pool.
Vojens lies in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Stroll by the old watermill at Tørning. Join Tørning Ekspressen; a round trip that includes rides on a veteran train and horse-drawn carriage. At the end of the trip, you return to Haderslev by boat. You can follow the Ancient Road Hærvejen or play a round of disc golf on the 18-hole disc golf course. There are good shops in Vojens town centre and Musikhuset (concert hall) is open all year for concerts and art exhibitions.
